We Love Our Explorers! 

Past Sessions

2022 Summer Session 9: Osteology, Acoustics, Ophthalmology, Electricity, Robots, and Hydraulics (August 8-12)

In osteology, explorers will learn about the skeletal system, bone joints, skulls, and how to heal broken bones.  In acoustics, explorers will learn about wind tunnels, singing tubes, xylophones, tuning forks, and sound waves.  In ophthalmology, explorers will dissect sheep eyes and understand how eyes work. In electricity, explorers will learn about different electrical circuits, build a robot, and explore mini robots with light sensors.  In hydraulics, explorers will build an elevator, and explore with legos.  Explorers will also create art using printmaking. 

2022 Summer Session 7:
Geology and Paleontology
(July 25-29)

​Archeology, Evidence of Dinosaurs, Pangea, Animal Jaw Bones, Earth Science, Weather, Hurricane Simulation, Volcanoes, Crystals, Color of the Universe, Land Slides Experiments and preventing them, Erosion, Stream Table, New Orleans Environment and Ecosystems, Levees, Storm Serge, Wetlands Buffer Zone, Community Projects, Mississippi River Basin, Owl Pellet Dissection

2022 Summer Session 5:
Adaptations & Entomology & Herpetology
(July 11-15)

Insects, Caterpillars, Microscopes, Lady Bugs, Dissect a Grasshopper; Adaptations of Different Species including Fur, Feathers, Hair, Teeth; Eggs and Vinegar Osmosis, Physiology, Examine bones, Build a Reptile Robot; Reptile Krewe visit including many kinds of snakes, lizards, turtles, tortoise, and bearded dragons! Visit with a falcon and an owl!

2022 Summer Session 3:
Biology and Forensics
(June 20-24)

Cells, Microscopes, Observe Pond Water Organisms, Grow Bacteria in Petri Dishes, Sheep Heart dissection, Frog dissection, Grow a Blob, DNA, Forensics, Murder Mystery, Grow bacteria in Petri Dishes, Mystery Substance, Fingerprint Analysis, Build a Balance Worm Robot

2022 Summer Session 1:
Physical Science and Botany

Plant Cells, Chloroplasts, Mimicry, Grow Plants in different Environments, Photosynthesis Experiment with Bromothymol Blue, Cellular Respiration Experiment, States of Matter, Convection Currents, Dry Ice, Liquid Nitrogen and flowers, Make Snow, Water, Water Cycle, Hydrophobic Sand, Chrysanthemums and Celery with Colors, Adhesion, Cohesion

Living and nonliving things, photosynthesis, gardening, food webs, making a terrarium, owl pellet dissection, squid dissection, pets, butterfly and frog life cycles, composting, AND recycling

States of matter, water, chemical reactions, substances, mixtures, slime, pH, electrochemistry, AND egg chemistry

2022 Summer Session 8: 
​Botany, Pedology, and Heliophysics 
(August 1-5): 

In botany, explorers will plant and care for plants using indoor grow lights, a sprouting kit, and outdoor conditions. Explorers will learn how to identify and stain seeds, plant cells and animal cells.   In pedology, explorers will learn about decreasing soil pollution, layers of soil, how to compost using worm bins, topographical maps, and about remediating coastal erosion. In heliophysics explorers will learn about the power of the sun, photovoltaic cells, and how to apply their power to water heaters, heat and light paper, and color changing bracelets.  Explorers will also build a solar oven and a robot.

2022 Summer Session 6:
Biochemistry and Physics
(July 18-July 22)

Physics, Build a house, Marshmallows tower, Movable pet, Origami Snake, Build a Kazoo, Study Air and Gravity, Body Systems, Bones exploration, Organs make a system, Dissection, Build Lungs, Acids and Bases, pH discovery of different brands of water, pH with cabbage, Make Ice Cream, Petting Zoo visit

2022 Summer Session 4:
Physics and Engineering
(June 27-July 1)

Electricity, Electrical Parallel and Series Circuits, Batteries, Electric Eels, Static Electricity, Magnetism, Build and Electromagnet, Poles of Magnets, Earth’s Magnetic Field, Magnetic Slime, Engineering, Earthquake Proof Buildings, Flood Proof Buildings Egg Drip Experiment, Build a Brush Bot

​2022 Summer Session 2:
Chemistry
(June 13-17)

Chemical Reactions, Precipitate Reactions, Elephant Toothpaste, Glow-sticks, Hand warmers, Lighting Steel Wool, Elements, Compounds, Mixtures, Chemical and Physical Properties, Density Tube, Mass vs. Weight, Measure the Mass and Volume of different Substances, Flame Test, Lithium, Gallium, Form molds and fill with hot metal, Slime with shaving cream

2021​ Winter Break
Body Systems and DNA
​(Dec 27-31)

Body Systems including the circulatory system, respiratory system, nervous system, skeletal system, and digestive system.  Students built an inflatable heart, Stethoscope, blood slime, built lungs, constructed a brain, explored animal bones, dissected owl pellets, built a robot hand and a spinal cord, and did yoga.  Students also learned about the structure of DNA, built a model, learned to pipet, and solved a murder mystery using Gel Electrophoresis. ​

 Geology, types rocks, geodes, plate tectonics, Pangea, earthquakes, fault lines, building construction, weather, natural disasters, Google Earth, topography maps, crystals, seasons, volcanoes, door painting,

From 8:30am to 3:00 pm
Cost: $350 per 5 day session
$250 per 3 day session 
Discounts for multiple weeks 


Morning care is from 7:30-8:30am for $50/week 

​Aftercare is from 3:00-6:00pm for $100/week

COMBO Morning/Aftercare SAVES you $30

Covid Protocols followed: 

1.  Symptom Questions upon Arrival (no refund provided if your explorer has COVID symptoms)
2. Hand washing every 2 hours and additionally as needed. 
3. Hand sanitizer stations throughout Camp. 
4. MASKS are optional and encouraged. 
5. Social distancing when possible. 
6. Maintain camp pod throughout each week.
