Located in Mid City New Orleans 
We are encouraging youth to
be curious, be observant, & ask questions. 
We create a safe space where kids can feel confident in taking risks and making mistakes.  Through experiences with STEAM, children gain the creative problem solving skills, to become the promising STEMinists of tomorrow.

2022 Summer Session 5:
​Adaptations & Entomology & Herpetology
​(July 11-15)

​Insects, Caterpillars, Microscopes, Lady Bugs, Dissect a Grasshopper; Adaptations of Different Species including Fur, Feathers, Hair, Teeth; Eggs and Vinegar Osmosis, Physiology, Examine bones, Build a Reptile Robot; Reptile Krewe visit including many kinds of snakes, lizards, turtles, tortoise, and bearded dragons! Visit with a falcon and an owl!​

Biochemistry and Physics

Compost Now (Session 1) 

Compost Now is a volunteer driven organization working towards making composting accessible to everyone in New Orleans. Donations are used to pay for bins, transporting scraps, community outreach and education, and help with our larger events like the Pumpkin SMASH.  They will teach students how to compost, why it is important and useful for improving our land. Nature to Geaux (Sessions 2, 4, 5 & 7)

Tanee Janusz will teach with live lessons including animals science fun, animal mythbusters, habitats and adaptations, and wetland detective. Her website can be found here.

Rowdy Rascals Petting Zoo (Sessions 3 & 6)

Scott will give each class a short speech about who and what each animal is and the safety rules.  Then students will get to safely interact with the animals.  More information can be found here on their website.

Project Peaceful Warriors
​(ALL Sessions, Tuesdays and Thursdays)

Project Peaceful Warriors collaborates with New Orleans schools, community centers, and organizations to grow healing centered learning spaces through equitable access to the tools of yoga and mindfulness. More information can be found on their website here.

Meraux Foundation (Session 7) 
Presentation on Wetlands 

Blaise Pezold is the Meraux Foundation Coastal and Environmental Program Manager.  He will teach students about the importance and methods of saving Louisiana's coastline.  He will also explain how we can create multiple lines of defense in order to preserve Louisiana's coastline. Brian Curtice (Session 7) 
​Paleontologist Talk

Dr. Brian Curtice (aka Dr. BC) is a renowned dinosaur paleontologist who recently confirmed Supersaurus as the longest dinosaur so far discovered. To find out more click here.

Reptile Krewe (Session 5) 

Barry Guillot's education programs have been highlighted in documentaries by George Lucas (Star Wars), Diane Sawyer on ABC, and Jane Fonda on CNN, as well as appearances on the Weather Channel, as well as being featured in the award winning children's book Heroes of the Environment, written by Harriet Rohmer.  He will set up 4 different stations that allow the kids to interact with some incredible animals at stations including Leapin' Lizards, Sssnakes!Ball Pythons, Sssnakes! Colubrids and Boas, and Creature Feature Photos.  More information can be found on their website here.

AWE seeks to create experiences that remind youth to BE CURIOUS, BE OBSERVANT, and ASK QUESTIONS about the world around us.  We do this to seek knowledge and solve the problems of today and the future.

Ask Wonder Explore STEM Camp  
is located in Mid City, New Orleans

For Grades PreK-8
From 8:30am to 3:00 pm
Cost: $350 per 5 day session
$250 per 3 day session 
Discounts for multiple weeks 


Morning care is from 7:30-8:30am for $50/week 

​Aftercare is from 3:00-6:00pm for $100/week

COMBO Morning/Aftercare SAVES you $30
for a cost of $120/week

Covid Protocols followed: 

1. Symptom Questions upon Arrival (no refund provided if your explorer has COVID symptoms)
2. Hand washing every 2 hours and additionally as needed. 
3. Hand sanitizer stations throughout Camp. 
4. MASKS must be worn at ALL times. 
5. Social distancing when possible. 
6. Maintain camp pod throughout each week.
