Ms. Callie (she/they)STEM Educator, Specialist, & Curriculum DeveloperCallie is a lifelong learner of science and eager newcomer to teaching STEAM. She has experience in developing experiential STEAM curriculum from teaching and working for nonprofits in education. She loves coming up with creative ways to challenge, excite, and inspire students to pursue their deepest dreams and change what they dislike about their world. Her favorite activities involve getting out into nature and in her free time loves to travel, garden, and practice mindfulness.

Mr. Justice (he/him)STEM Educator & Specialist, and Grant WriterJustice Singleton is a black trans educator, screenwriter, director, actor, poet, stand-up comedian and drag burlesque artist who lives in New Orleans. Originally from Los Angeles, Justice was Inspired by his spiritual faith to create a meditative writers’ program called Justify Writers Room. The workshops enlists BIPOC creators to build community and dismantle “writer’s block”, inspire radical education and systemic storytelling. In addition to working as a television and film imagineer, Justice performs stand-up comedy and co-stars in a podcast called Imposter Syndrome Survivor’s Club with Amelian Kashiro Hamilton. The podcast is spiritual audio exploring “Imposter Syndrome” within the creative industry. Currently, Justice Singleton spends time writing television, teaching workshops, producing and performing in New Orleans.

Raji (she/they)STEM EducatorRaji has been a youth educator in and outside of traditional school settings for 7 years, with focuses in expressive & healing arts, STEM, and ecological education. Outside of working with young people, she spends her time urban farming, being an artist, making herbal medicines, and reading. She believes that alternatives to traditional school – rooted in exploration, social justice, and holistic health – are necessary for young people and families to have the support and confidence they need to thrive. She is so excited to be a part of the AWE team!
Ms. Sydney (she/her)STEM EducatorSydney is a rising sophomore at the University of Florida, studying biology on the pre-med track. She fell in love with science from a very early age, wanting to know not only how the mechanisms of the world work but why. She was enrolled in the biomedical engineering program in high school that allowed her to conduct independent research and learn in many different fields of medicine and science. Sydney has worked for Ask Wonder Explore for the past two summers and is also a volunteer at Oschner Baptist. Outside of the scientific world, she also loves reading, amateur interior design, and romcoms.
Gio (she/her)STEM EducatorGio is a Creative, Art Director and Business & Life Coach. She has an under degree in Fine Arts, Product Design and Graphic Design with minors in Communication and Photography and a Master Degree in Sustainable Fashion & Trends. Gio has worked as an Art Director for Marketing and Advertising for 10+ years for major global companies and recently opened her own Boutique Marketing Agency. Her dream is to inspire people to know themselves, be happier, and reach their own dreams. She has experience teaching Scientific Method & Analysis for College freshman. She supports STEM education and believes in practice changes to better the school system in New Orleans. In her free time she volunteers in different non-profit groups to help the homeless, and various minorities.

Dr. Raphyel RosbyVice President and STEM EducatorDr. Raphyel Rosby is an Assistant Professor of Biology at Southern University A&M College, Baton Rouge. He has 16 years teaching in research and teaching undergraduates. His research interests include ribosome biogenesis defect pathways and the role of the COVID-19 virus in foam cell formation, and how the virus affects the veins and arteries. He has several peer-reviewed articles that encompass his research interests. He currently has a molecular biology research lab where he trains both undergraduate and graduate students.

Angela WallaceTreasurerAngela is a native of St. Bernard Parish. She has been a math educator for 17 years. She has two masters degrees, one in Art & Teaching and other in International Affairs & Development. She is currently a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership at Xavier University in New Orleans. She has taught math in all grades five through eight. Angela is an avid reader, and aspires to be a professor of math education. She is married with three children.
