What is a Microschool?
Homeschool Tutoring Services and Microschools create an independent learning environment that reinvents the one-room schoolhouse where there are mixed-age level groupings. According to Microschool Revolution (2023) an educational space like AWE is described as "outsourced homeschooling," free from the bureaucracy, standardized tests, and mandatory curriculum that defines today's public school system. Environments like AWE are efficiently run, and student engagement is remarkably high. Additionally, these spaces focus on personalized learning and often employ innovative teaching methods, technology, and project-based learning experiences. They are often smaller in size than traditional schools, with a low student-teacher ratio and a focus on individual student needs and interests.
AWE's Philosophy
Explorers enrolled in the Microschool study core subjects, receive individualized learning plans, and are assessed through project-based learning, performance tasks, and online programs.
Mission:At AWE, individuals gain and fine tune the knowledge of STEM tools, tech, and social justice, in a space that encourages taking risks, making mistakes, and innovating. We establish engagement, support, and connections in STEM and to the local community while ensuring equity, differentiation, and accommodation to make the world a more equitable, viable, and joyful place to live.

Core ValuesWe strive to connect with our community through STEM. Explorers work together as activists and bring awareness to inequities in our city. Our work allows students to develop their social and emotional skills through experiences with STEAM. We encourage youth to ask questions, be curious, and be observant. We create a safe space where kids can feel confident in taking risks and making mistakes. Children at AWE gain the creative problem-solving skills to become the promising STEMinists of tomorrow.

Our Goals

Ask Wonder Explore has been a member of the National Microschooling Center since 2024. Our microschool began Fall 2023. Our camp program began in 2021.We have served students aged 4-14.
For the 2024-2025 school year, we will be hosting students in grades K-8. |

**To secure your explorer's spot you need to pay the first month of tuition and a 3% processing fee.

***All Microschool Families are required to register with GNO FLASH and pay their annual $60 membership fee. This also grants you the benefits of their programming.
